South Lanarkshire welcomes new officer to work with tenants
Published: Monday 9 October 2023

In June, Hannah Beaton was appointed as a new Development Officer.
Hannah works with the South Lanarkshire Tenant Development Support Project (SLTDSP), which is funded by the council and works to ensure tenants and communities are at the heart of consultation and have a meaningful role in shaping Housing Services.
As Development Officer, Hannah has a wide and varied role, including providing development support and training to tenants to help them consider issues, identify priorities and work closely with the council to improve services. Hannah will also support established tenant and resident groups to continue to make a positive impact within their community, including attracting grant funding for specific projects,
where appropriate.
Hannah, who studied Anthropology and Sociology at Glasgow University, started her career as an intern for the International Network of Street Papers, a non-profit organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and homelessness.
She then worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), based in the Northwest of Glasgow, for five years, starting as a volunteer adviser before becoming a full-time staff member. Hannah held a number of different roles within CAB, including, Volunteer and Training Co-ordinator and Project Manager, supporting both local and national projects and has extensive involvement in community work.
Hannah said: “Despite only being in this post for a short time, I am enjoying getting to know our tenant groups and South Lanarkshire Council staff members –
who have given me the warmest welcome.
“I’m excited to be working with tenants and the council to help develop and improve services.”
