Show time as Harry Lauder exhibition extended
Published: Thursday 29 February 2024
There's still some tickets left for an evening’s entertainment being staged to mark the end of the Sir Harry Lauder exhibition.
The very popular exhibition at Low Parks Museum, which was due to close at the end of February, will remain open at the museum in Hamilton until March 16.
Many people will want a final chance to visit the exhibition celebrating the life of Scotland’s world-famous superstar.
And if you are quick, there are still a few tickets left to see Lauder – showcasing the life of the legendary Scottish entertainer.
Tenor and broadcaster Jamie MacDougall will be acting and singing his way through many of Lauder’s well-known songs including I Love a Lassie, Roamin’ in the Gloamin’ and Keep Right on to The End of the Road.
The show is a fitting finale to the Museums Galleries Scotland funded exhibition National Treasure: South Lanarkshire’s Sir Harry Lauder Collection, which opened at the museum back in June 2023.
The Sir Harry Lauder Collection of more than 600 items gained the National Recognition award in 2022 and a large part of this collection is still on display at the museum.
It showcases Harry’s life and work through stage costumes, his trademark twisty walking sticks, handwritten letters and lyrics, music, photographs, film and archives.
Entrance to the exhibition is free.
Tickets to see Lauder are £9 (includes complimentary drink and nibbles). Available to book online or by calling The Town House Hamilton on 01698 452299.
