Road closure in Carluke to resurface A73
Published: Thursday 29 August 2024

The A73 Lanark Road, Carluke, between Goremire Road and The Taal restaurant, will be closed for resurfacing next week.
The essential improvement works will require the road to be closed from 7am on Monday 2 September until 6pm on Friday 6 September.
The signed diversion route will be A73 to Lanark, A706, A721, A73 and vice versa.
Colin Park, the council’s Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this road closure will cause.
“But we are sure local residents will appreciate the long-term benefits following the short-term closure of this stretch of road.
“I would ask all road users to allow extra time for their journey while this work is undertaken.”
