Introduction of revised Housing Repairs Policy
Published: Monday 2 June 2025
The Housing Repairs Policy sets out the council’s approach to carrying out repairs.
This includes on council homes and related assets, and provides the basis on which the housing repairs service is delivered.
Last year we highlighted that the Housing Repairs Policy was under review and that we were working with tenant representatives from the Tenant Participation Co-ordination Group to review the policy to ensure that it remains fit for purpose and reflects the business needs of the service.
Formal consultation on the policy, involving customers and other stakeholders, took place during the autumn of 2024. The feedback provided during this process was taken into account in the development of the finalised policy, which was approved by the council in May 2025.
You can view the revised policy and other information about repairs on the council's website.
