Essential Roadworks on B740
Published: Friday 13 June 2025
Improvement works are to take place on a stretch of road just outside the village of Crawfordjohn.
The B740 will be closed from Monday 16 June between Gateside Road and Netherhill Road.
The road will be closed for up to three days to allow carriageway surface dressing works to be completed, weather and resources permitting.
A diversion will be in place via: B740, A76, B797, A702, B7078 and B740 and vice-versa
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road works.
“We would ask users to avoid the area if possible, and if not, to leave extra time for their journeys.
“We are sure road users will appreciate the improvements once the work is complete.”
