South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture has announced the appointment of Nick Lansdell as its new Chief Executive.
Nick brings over 20 years’ leadership experience in outdoor education, strategic development, and governance.
He had been serving as the interim Chief Executive since July 2025 and was previously the Head of Strategy and Governance.
Nick Lansdell said: “I am delighted to be appointed Chief Executive of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.
“The organisation has an ambitious future and I look forward to leading us towards our shared goals and ambitions.
“I am passionate about partnership working and I am excited to keep delivering for our communities and a wide range of stakeholders across South Lanarkshire.”
Nick has been with the organisation since its formation in 2010. He began his career in the region leading the Council’s outdoor education service, later heading SLLC’s Outdoor Learning and Adventure offering before expanding his remit to Outdoor Recreation.
In 2021, he moved into a strategic role, overseeing key business functions and serving as Company Secretary to the Board.
He played a central role in SLLC’s transition to a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and in shaping its 2022-27 strategy.
Dr Avril Osborne, Chair of the Board for South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, said: “This appointment is an exciting step for SLLC and builds on the successful work to date.
“We are confident that Nick will continue to lead us with energy, vision, and commitment as we work together to deliver the best possible services for our communities.
“The Board looks forward to continuing to work together with him to achieve our shared goals.”
