Time to use council’s sustainable travel app
Published: Wednesday 10 September 2025
During the coming weeks you can boost your BetterPoints app by travelling sustainably to the Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival.
Running until 21 September, the events aim to get everyone talking about what they can do to help our planet thrive by simply making small changes to how we go about our every-day lives.
Councillor Norman Rae, the Chair of the council’s Climate and Sustainability Committee, said: “Coming along to the events in your area is a great way to learn more about how you can help the climate.
“And it is also a great way to boost your points on the council’s BetterPoints – Think, Move, Breathe app by choosing a more sustainable mode of transport to get there, whether it’s a short walk, a bike ride with friends or simply catching the bus or train.
“Your choices all add up to a healthier planet and a happier and healthier you.”
The programme of events during the festival includes everything from nature walks and food-growing workshops to upcycling, mending, and community events.
Most of the festival events require advanced booking so sign up now to avoid missing out.
