Essential upgrades to roads in Law
Published: Friday 12 September 2025
Improvements to a road in Law are to take place from next week.
Station Road and Brownlee Road, Law, between Muir Street and no. 14 Brownlee Road, will close on Monday 15 September at 7am for up to seven days to allow carriageway resurfacing work to take place.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
Due to the number of properties affected by the closure, access will be maintained when possible. Significant delays are to be expected before this can be accommodated. Access and egress from alternative directions and locations may be required.
The signed diversion routes will utilise Station Road, Wildman Road, A73 to Carluke, Weighhouse Road, Luggie Road, Mauldslie Road and B7011.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause to road users.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys in the area and that they plan their routes accordingly.
“We are sure road users will appreciate the long-term benefits of the improvements when the work has been completed.”
