Major improvements on way for road in Chapelton
Published: Monday 16 February 2026
Improvement works are to be carried out on a road in Chapelton from next week.
The works on A726 Glasgow Road will see the carriageway resurfaced and will take place across five days.
The work will start from Monday 23 February to Friday 27 February and will result in the closure of A726 Glasgow Road from Shawtonhill Highway to Mounthilly Road.
During the woks there will be a signed diversion route through the A726, A723, A72, A724, and A725.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause to road users.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A726 Glasgow Road, Chapelton during the times indicated and that they plan their routes accordingly.
“We are sure road users will appreciate the long-term benefits of the improvements when the work has been completed.”
