The process is continuing to appoint an independent chair to lead a plan that will invest up to £20 million in Hamilton town centre.

The chair will head a neighbourhood board at the heart of the local Pride in Place Programme – one of 12 projects across Scotland earmarked for UK Government funding.

However, for technical reasons it is believed that some applications that were submitted by the deadline of 15 February 2026 may not have been received by the council.

Anyone who did apply but did not receive an acknowledgement that their email had been received is therefore urged to resubmit it to pach.exec@southlanarkshire.gov.uk as soon as possible.

Full details of the Pride in Place programme can be found here.

The independent chair of the neighbourhood board will be selected by South Lanarkshire Council’s Chief Executive, in consultation with the Council Leader, local ward members, and Imogen Walker, MP for Hamilton and Clyde Valley.
