Candidates confirmed for 2026 Scottish Parliament elections

Nominations have now closed for the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections.
The candidates standing in South Lanarkshire have been confirmed for the election, with polling taking place from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
In the Clydesdale constituency, the candidates are:
- Richard John Brodie (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
- Dan Clarke (Reform UK)
- Lynsey Hamilton (Scottish Labour Party)
- Mairi McAllan (Scottish National Party – SNP)
- Julie Pirone (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
In the East Kilbride constituency, the candidates are:
- Leigh Butler (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
- Joe Fagan (Scottish Labour Party)
- Kristofer Keane (Independent)
- Tim Kelly (Reform UK)
- Collete Stevenson (Scottish National Party – SNP)
- Brian Whittle (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
In the Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse constituency, the candidates are:
- David Ballantine (Alliance for Democracy and Freedom)
- Alexandra Herdman (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
- Alex Kerr (Scottish National Party – SNP)
- John McNamee (Reform UK)
- Davy Russell (Scottish Labour Party)
- Michael John Weatherhead (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
In the Rutherglen and Cambuslang constituency, the candidates are:
- Clare Haughey (Scottish National Party – SNP)
- Monica Lennon (Scottish Labour Party and Co-operative Party)
- Patrick Logue (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
- Allan Lyons (Reform UK)
- Chris Sermanni (Scottish Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition)
- Annie Wells (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party)
For those resident in the constituency of Uddingston and Bellshill, this will be administered by North Lanarkshire Council.
For this election, voters will be given two ballot papers – a constituency ballot paper (lilac colour) to elect a person to be your constituency member and a regional ballot paper (peach colour) to elect a regional member.
The Glasgow South Region will be administered by Glasgow City Council and candidates can be found on their website.
The South Scotland Region will be administered by Dumfries and Galloway Council and candidates can be found on their website.
