Overnight works to take place on A72

Resurfacing works are to take place over 10 nights from next week on a section of the A72 Lanark Road.
From Tuesday 14 July until Thursday 23 July, the A72 will be closed from Hazelwood Cottage, Rosebank to Overton Road from 8pm to 6am each night.
The road will reopen each morning to ensure daytime access remains unaffected.
A diversion will be in place via A71 Horsley Brae, Main Street, Overtown, A721 Wishaw Road, A73 Airdrie Road, A73 Lanark Road, A72 Kirkfieldbank Brae, A72 Lanark Road.
Head of Roads, Fleet and Transportation Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.
“We have planned them to take place overnight in a bid to minimise disruption.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A72 Lanark Road, Rosebank during the times indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.
“We are sure everyone will appreciate the improved condition of the road when the works are complete.”
